The story

About the project

Set on the ground floor of a narrow, load-bearing residence, this two-bedroom renovation called for a gentle approach. With two floors above, we worked within the existing structure, making small, considered changes to bring greater ease, light and air into everyday living.

Inside the project

  • 01Dry-stone terraces planted with native grasses
  • 02Community gathering beneath the pavilion roof
  • Once arranged one behind another, the rooms found a new rhythm through a corridor, allowing movement without passing through private spaces. An open-to-sky courtyard became the home’s breathing space, with the kitchen placed close by for natural ventilation.

  • 03Community gathering beneath the pavilion roof
  • A light colour palette, punctuated by artwork and upholstery, lends a quiet openness. Thoughtfully chosen furniture, soft furnishings and layered lighting bring warmth and comfort—creating an intimate home that feels lighter, flows better and honours the structure it began with.
